Hello my ukulele friends!
Just a quick update on what has been happening in Ukulele world…
We had several sessions recently when our room here at The Woolpack was bursting at the seams. But things are more comfortable now we have started out daytime ukulele and guitar social club on a Wednesday morning. There are now seats spare so hopefully you will find the session less cramped and more fun!
The Woolpack Music Social Club runs 10:30am -12:30pm every Wednesday morning and includes time for tea, biscuits and chatting! Check out http://www.woolpackmusicsocialclub.wordpress.com for the music we are working on.
We had a great time playing at Otley Beer Festival last week and had a great response from the crowd! There was lots of people singing along which we love! Hopefully there will be a bigger stage next year…! Huge thanks to Paul Briscoe for inviting us to play again.
Paul Briscoe played his guitar beautifully before we took to the stage

Do you know anyone who might like to learn the ukulele in the new year?
I am running a Beginners and Improvers course (the two are designed to go together!)
SATURDAY 24.01.15, 31.01.15 and 07.02.15
2:30pm – 4:30pm
This course is designed for total beginners. The course will be at a pace suitable for new players and will help you get a grasp of the basics through learning songs together
You will learn in a small, friendly group environment:
• how to get the best sound from your ukulele
• good playing techniques
• basic strumming patterns
• how to song sheets with lyrics and chords
• songs using the chords of C, F, G, G7 and Am
SATURDAY 28.02.15, 07.03.15 AND 14.03.15
2:30pm – 4:30pm
This course is designed for people who want to carry on where the Beginners course left off. The course will be at the same pace and will hopefully build your confidence as a player. We will learn new songs too!
You will explore in a small, friendly group environment:
• more chords in open position such as A, D, D7 and E7

With only 6 weeks until we break for our Christmas holidays, we thought we’d better make a start on some Christmas songs! Here’s what we did last night (including the none festive songs!!)
Play along with the song here (I can’t find an “official” video but this one is strangely hypnotic!)- it’s in the same key (although the intro is slightly different!)
Friday 14th November 7pm at Otley Beer Festival! Ukuleles and beer! What’s not to like?!
Here’s what we’ll be playing….
OTLEY BEER FESTIVAL 2014 set list
We had an amazing time at The Cheerful Chilli on Friday celebrating our 3rd SPOOKULELE event. It was amazing to see all the effort players and audience members had put into getting dressed up for the occasion. The Cheerful Chilli put on a fantastic spread of food and we sang, strummed and danced until our feet hurt!
Here are a couple of photos… there will be more to follow! If you have any please send to email@example.com
