The Ukulele Legend Manitoba Hal in association with the Great Northern Ukulele Festival will be returning to Otley to deliver a workshop and perform for us on Sunday 17th May. We’re very excited!
Tickets are almost sold out – please email me for more details… email@example.com
As part of the evening there will be a sing-a-long after the workshop and before Manitoba Hal performs. All tickets will allow you and your non-ukulele playing friends into the sing-a-long!
It should be a lot of fun!
I have chosen songs from Roundhay Ukulele Group as well as Otley Ukulele Orchestra so that you will all the songs. There is one song picked from the Woolpack Music Social Club – which you can download here…
Friday evening was the Strum Like George Formby workshop led by John Bramall – it was a fun but challenging evening! I hope we can organise a follow on class as it was really good to learn new techniques. A big thank you to all who attended – we raised £115 towards our Youth Music project here at The Woolpack Studios.
The Triple Strum!
On Saturday we played for the Dry Stone Wall Associations 15th Anniversary at Weston Lane Social, which was really fun. We were welcomed by lovely people and had amazing food too! Big thanks to everyone who played – it sounded really good. All the practise has paid off!

Our first official weekend away is this FRIDAY! Expect a few photos and stories from BUNKULELE soon 🙂 If you’re in Grassington this weekend then come and say hello from 3pm at The Forresters Arms where we will be playing.
We’ll be playing at Tealbeck on the 23rd February so there will be no 7pm – 8pm session that day. All are welcome to come and play though! Here are the songs we are doing…
Friday evening’s gig at Cafe Lux was really fun – a big thank you to everyone who came to play and those who sang along from the audience. I was really chuffed to find out that we had helped to raise £440 for Solomon – who needs a new wheelchair so that he can enjoy more sports and outdoor activities. It was a great evening and I hope we can do more fundraising in the future for SUNSHINE FOR SOLOMON!

It Must Be Love
We were looking specifically at songs that we will be playing this Saturday at The Dry Stone Wall Association’s 15th Anniversary! We’ve heard they like a good party so we were only too happy to be involved!
Just a quick reminder that we are playing at Leeds Skyline World AIDS Day free event this Sunday at Leeds Art Gallery 2pm, Henry Moore Room. All welcome! Please come and help support such a great charity…
24th November – Session
We had a really fun session last night playing our Christmas songs!
We have a lot of performances to look forward to next month. I hope you can make some (or all!) of them.
Click on this link to download details of all the gigs and songs we will be performing… don’t forget you must sign up for the events on a Monday session so I know who is coming so we can be properly prepared!!
Just a quick update on what has been happening in Ukulele world…
We had several sessions recently when our room here at The Woolpack was bursting at the seams. But things are more comfortable now we have started out daytime ukulele and guitar social club on a Wednesday morning. There are now seats spare so hopefully you will find the session less cramped and more fun!
The Woolpack Music Social Club runs 10:30am -12:30pm every Wednesday morning and includes time for tea, biscuits and chatting! Check out http://www.woolpackmusicsocialclub.wordpress.com for the music we are working on.
We had a great time playing at Otley Beer Festival last week and had a great response from the crowd! There was lots of people singing along which we love! Hopefully there will be a bigger stage next year…! Huge thanks to Paul Briscoe for inviting us to play again.
Paul Briscoe played his guitar beautifully before we took to the stage
