We had a really busy weekend of OUO activity!

On Saturday we drove over to Rowntree Park in York to help entertain the Environment Agency at their Summer Fair. It was a glorious afternoon and we played lots of songs for them as they soaked up the rays. It was really good fun. Thank you to everyone who came to play. It was just a shame i didn’t get a go on the bouncy castle! Here are some photographic highlights…

On Sunday, a few of us played for the Singing for the Brain Cafe at The Courthouse. We sure made a lot of noise for only 9 ukuleles (BIG thanks to YOU!) and got everyone singing along with us.

1st June – Manitoba Hal gig at Korks (6pm)
2nd June – Hope and Social session
7th June – Hope and Social gig
21st June – Otley Carnival – get your HAWAIIAN THEMED outfits and accessories NOW!!
22nd June – Otley Walking Festival
28th June – Haworth Ukulele Festival (we’ll be playing Saturday afternoon)

It was wonderful to celebrate our 2nd birthday with you all this week. I just can’t believe it! A massive thank you to all of you who come to our Monday sessions, whether you come every week or every once in a while… you all contribute to making OUO what it is; which is the best band ever! i love you guys! long may it continue!

we did some great work on this last week and it is coming together really well. I know some of the chords and tab parts are a little complex (that’s Queen for ya!) but with more perseverance it will sound even more awesome!

NEXT WEEK’S SESSION (12th May) will see the OUO turn 2 years old! Can you believe it?! A huge thank you to all of you who have supported the team over this time. It’s so exciting to think where we could be in another two years!! 🙂 Hope you can make it to the session for some ukulele fun as we prepare for a season of performances!
