Just a quick note to say we will be recording and videoing Bring Me Sunshine in the 8pm session to send into BBC Radio 2. Please can you wear OUO tops if you have one (any blue/white top if not). It’s worth a try, eh?! :-)
We’ll be playing at Tealbeck next Monday (23rd Feb). Everyone is welcome to come and join us – even if you just sing the songs you don’t know.
Please meet at The Woolpack 7pm or at Tealbeck for a 7:10pm start.
We’ll run the 8pm session as usual.
Here are the songs we will be playing
See you then my friendS!
What a cracking weekend we had!
Friday evening was the Strum Like George Formby workshop led by John Bramall – it was a fun but challenging evening! I hope we can organise a follow on class as it was really good to learn new techniques. A big thank you to all who attended – we raised £115 towards our Youth Music project here at The Woolpack Studios.
On Saturday we played for the Dry Stone Wall Associations 15th Anniversary at Weston Lane Social, which was really fun. We were welcomed by lovely people and had amazing food too! Big thanks to everyone who played – it sounded really good. All the practise has paid off!
At last night’s sessions we looked at a few new songs as well as ones we have worked on for a while including
FROM ME TO YOU
IT’S MY PARTY
Have a listen to my demo here…
Our first official weekend away is this FRIDAY! Expect a few photos and stories from BUNKULELE soon :-) If you’re in Grassington this weekend then come and say hello from 3pm at The Forresters Arms where we will be playing.
We’ll be playing at Tealbeck on the 23rd February so there will be no 7pm – 8pm session that day. All are welcome to come and play though! Here are the songs we are doing…
And the application is in for this year’s CARNIVAL!!!!! So excited. Keep 20th June free. I finally got round to having the shield engraved from last year!
See y’all soon!
Friday evening’s gig at Cafe Lux was really fun – a big thank you to everyone who came to play and those who sang along from the audience. I was really chuffed to find out that we had helped to raise £440 for Solomon – who needs a new wheelchair so that he can enjoy more sports and outdoor activities. It was a great evening and I hope we can do more fundraising in the future for SUNSHINE FOR SOLOMON!
We looked at these songs this week…
We were looking specifically at songs that we will be playing this Saturday at The Dry Stone Wall Association’s 15th Anniversary! We’ve heard they like a good party so we were only too happy to be involved!
Here is the set list!
Will promise to take pictures this time!!!
Just thought I’d let you know about the exciting things coming up over the next few weeks… there’s plenty to get involved with!

It was absolutely fantastic to see so many people turn up for the first OUO of 2015! I had missed you all over the Christmas break.
Tell you what though – it was brilliant to get stuck into some new songs (as much as I love Christmas – I am happy to be doing some non-festive songs!).
I always get nervous when we start a new term…will people like the new songs? will people come back??!
Here’s what we got up to this week…
SESSION 1 7pm – 8pm
SESSION 2 8pm – 9pm
Our first this year is a fundraiser for an incredible young man called Sol.
If you’d like to come please get in touch – tickets £5!
Sol has requested we play this song…
Hope he likes Blondie too!!
Hope to see you soon!
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has come on a Monday night, played at one of our gigs or been to see us play live in 2014. We’ve had an incredible year… the carnival, the Tour De France, Kirkstall Festival, Otley Beer Festival, Tealbeck, Dementia Cafes, Spookulele not to mention all the wonderful Christmas gigs we have done this year. It’s been amazing.
2015 will be full of new songs and new adventures together. I hope you can be a part of it!
Wishing you and your nearest and dearest a very Merry Christmas! And if you’re free on Christmas Day we’ll be singing carols at Tealbeck at 2pm… meet us at The Woolpack 1:45pm.
I will leave you with a little festive video…
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A STRUMMING NEW YEAR
